Outreach

Outreach is focused on reaching out into our community and world. We support numerous projects within Sun Prairie and the world. Below is a list of organizations that we support.

Loose Coin Offering

The third quarter loose offering will go to help support the Sunshine Supper. The number of meals served continues to grow. As scripture tells us to help feed the hungry.

Sunshine Supper

Sunshine Supper is a FREE community meal offered to anyone on Monday evenings. Sun Prairie United Methodist Church provides a meal quarterly – once in January, April, July, and October. We ask for donations of certain foods, beverages, desserts along with people to help serve the meal. We also ask for monetary donations to purchase food to serve. Watch the website, social media and announcements during worship to donate food items or money to purchase food items or to sign up to help. Families can volunteer together – kids 11 - 16 can volunteer with an adult.

Sun Prairie Food Pantry

Throughout the year, our church conducts regular food drives for both the Sun Prairie Emergency Food Pantry and the Northside Elementary School. Both groups provide needed food supplies for the Sun Prairie community, so children and families have adequate food for meals.

Stuff the Bus 

 Sunshine Place is collecting backpack donations for our 2026 Stuff the Bus program! We need NEW fun/themed backpacks for elementary-aged kids, and solid color, sturdy backpacks for middle and high schoolers that can withstand all of their books and supplies. Donations are needed by the end of July to leave time to prepare for distribution of backpacks in August. Here are 3 ways you can donate: 1.CHOOSE new backpacks to donate and bring them to your church. 2.GIVE a financial donation to help cover the cost of supplies and backpacks we purchase. These will be collected by your church. 3.BUY new backpacks through our online wishlist and have them shipped directly to Sunshine Place. Spirit of Giving 

Many people in the SP area struggle to make ends meet and purchase Christmas gifts for their children. Every year, SPUMC has a Spirit of Giving Tree with tags hanging on it to purchase a child a gift. Watch for more information in November.

Northside Elementary School Community Partner

Our church serves as a community partner with our neighboring school Northside Elementary. Throughout the year we partner through providing donations of items need or volunteering to help with school projects.
