Daniel Taylor
Director of Family Ministry
Raised in Texas and having grown-up attending the United Methodist Church with his Great-grandmother, Daniel fondly remembers his childhood serving as an acolyte and performing in the children’s handbell choir. In high school he began to volunteer with the youth helping serve Vacation Bible School and the church Nursery where he began to discover a passion for childcare and ministry work.
While earning his B.S. in Psychology at the University of Texas at Dallas, Daniel remained an active part of the United Methodist Church through the Synergy Wesley Foundation and its partner church Arapaho UMC Richardson, where he continued his spiritual development and was encouraged to grow as a leader and role model for college aged peers, youth and families with young children.
After graduating from UT-Dallas in 2020 and in large part because of a discernment-focused experience through “Exploration”, that left him hungering to go deeper into ministry possibilities, Daniel opted to continue his education at Iliff School of Theology where he earned his Master’s in Divinity in 2024. During this time, he served as an intern at St. Luke United Methodist of Austin where he began to learn the intricacies of Church leadership and responsibility.
In addition to his passion for family ministry and community engagement, Daniel is an advocate of social justice and radical inclusion for all of God’s children in the church and the world. He truly believes in the transformative works of God’s love and grace, and in the power of prophetic imagination when guided by the Holy Spirit to dream of resilient faith-based communities, and in walking alongside Jesus Christ in his lived and practiced life.
