On this first weekend of the New Year, we will celebrate Epiphany. The Day of Epiphany is always January 6th and the last day of the 12 Days of Christmas. The word ‘Epiphany’ means a sudden, striking understanding of something. For Christians, Epiphany is the celebration of the arrival of the magi, who traveled long distances with their gifts to greet the Christ child. This will also be the beginning of our January worship series, Leadership in Anxious Times. We will see what leadership skills we can glean from the people in the Gospel story and how those skills can help us in the anxious times in which we live. The scriptures this weekend will be Isaiah 60:1-6 and Matthew 2:1-12. Pastor Jenny’s sermon is titled “Led by a Star.”
