A SPECIAL VIM OPPORTUNITY
Volunteers in Mission!

FOR ALL ADULTS INTERESTED IN SERVING GOD
…with their hearts and hands …

Pine Lake United Methodist Camp
Westfield, WI
December 6 – 11, 2009

Participants will be staying in the Bishop Sharon Zimmerman Rader Retreat Center with separate rooms, all with showers.  Bring your own bedding (we try not to create more work for the staff by having them launder our bedding).  THE MISSION: finishing up the last wing of the Retreat Center.  Construction projects include: insulating, dry walling, mudding and painting.

Cost: $125 per person.

Please send your reservation to Carol Culbertson along with a deposit of $50.00, to 243 W. Main Street, Evansville, WI 53536.  For more information, contact Carol directly at 608-882-0136 or cculbert@charter.net.

The plan is to gather at the camp on Sunday, December 6 for a meal at 6pm.  At that time, there will be an opportunity to sing up for the jobs that need to be done.  The camp manager may have other projects for the group if there is more people than retreat center projects.  There is ALWAYS something that needs to be done at camp!

Please consider this an invitation to serve God through the wonderful program of Volunteers in Mission.

United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (VIM) share their time, talents and money for a specific project. The experience is one of sharing with others and serving God by serving others by traveling to specific mission sites (local, national and international). Daily morning and evening devotions are held. Work experiences range from building to sewing, cooking to childcare. The volunteers do more than think, read and contribute money to missions. They LIVE, FEEL and DO mission work.

Together, the following SPUMC members below have had many years of VIM experiences and are also happy to share information:
Barb Utphall
Scott & Dawn Bethke
Pat Harper

Scholarship assistance is available for those interesting in participating in VIM trips.
