Chancel Choir
You are invited to join Chancel Choir! We are an adult mixed choir who sing a variety of music from traditional to gospel. Some people who used to sing would love to join the choir, but are too nervous to start again. I have encouraged numerous people who said they could not sing to join choir. By the end of the year they loved singing and couldn’t imagine what they were afraid of! Chancel Choir is full of many talented singers, all of whom would love to help you work through any singing problems. Musical talent is not a prerequisite to join Chancel Choir...only a desire to praise God through music.
In Chancel Choir we sing many different types of music. In the course of three weeks, we have sung an a capella hymn, an African-American spiritual, and a gospel tune. All three pieces were moving in their own way. The fun comes from being a part of a group that strives to create excellence in music, as well as creating music that gives glory to God!
Chancel Choir meets Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. We sing most Sundays at 10:45 a.m. Every second and fifth Sunday we sing at 8:30 a.m. We perform a large work Christmas or Easter Cantata, alternating years. Past pieces include John Rutter’s Requiem and A Festival of Lessons and Carols. If you have questions, contact Gina
Now is a great time to try a wonderful and new way to praise God!
Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. – 1 Chronicles 16:23
Treble Tones
Women of all ages are encouraged to join TREBLE TONES, our three-part women’s chorus. We rehearse every Sunday morning, 9:40-10:15 in the Music Room. We cover a large variety of musical styles...from classical...to traditional...to an occasional country style contemporary, and everything in between! We generally sing the first Sunday of every month at the 8:30 a.m. worship service.
If you’re a busy singer with no evenings free, think about this Sunday morning group! For more information, please contact Mary Hartkopf
RiversEdge
RE provides worship music year round at alternating Saturday night services. We are a women’s quartet with acoustic guitar, piano and various other instruments (recorder, banjo, dulcimer, flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, bass and more!) We work collaboratively to write harmonies and arrange our own music. Our styles include blues, gospel, country, Celtic, bluegrass, and contemporary Christian. We rehearse on Thursdays from 7-9:30 on the weeks that we sing, and again from 4-5 before the service. If you can make a solid commitment to rehearsal and would like more information about being a part of RiversEdge, please contact Liv Goff.
