SPUMC Youth raise money primarily to offset the cost of the annual Mission Trip and the LOGOS Youth Conference.

Why? Youth trips, like anything, are costly! The cost for this year's Mission Trip to Queens, NY is $675/person. The LOGOS Youth Conference in Colorado is $675/person. This price included transportation, meals, and lodging for 7-8 days, plus registration fees and one fun activity per person.

How? We don’t want anyone to miss out on a trip, because they can’t pay. We provide a wide variety of fundraising opportunities throughout the year for two reasons: (1) to give our youth a means to offset the cost of their trip and, (2) for members of our congregation (and others) to have a way to support our youth. A list of some of our fundraisers is provided below. You can use this to help you plan and decide how/when you’d like to participate.

• SCRIP (ongoing) is a powerful fundraising tool because families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts; even gasoline can be purchased with SCRIP. How does this work? It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our church at a discount. Member families (you) buy the certificates for full face value, you redeem them for full face value, and our church keeps the difference as revenue. Visit the SCRIP table in Fellowship Hall after any worship service to purchase “instant” SCRIP cards or order specific cards. • Chocolate Lover's Sale (Feb 11-12, 2012). This speaks for itself, don't you think?
• Butter Braids (March 4-18)  Order your favorite flavor Butter Braid with a delivery date of March 28 just in time for your Easter celebration.
• Americas Best Gift Cards (March 25th-while supplies last)  Get your Easter Basket fillers and Mothers Day gifts early.  We have gift cards in increments of $10,$20,and $25
• Silent Auction and Dinner (March 24 & 25) We are having a youth auction and dinner.  We are looking for donations for silent auction items.  Please come and join us for a fun night with dinner and silent auction winners.
