PAUL E. SIMMONS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established in the name of a long time member of this congregation. It is given to a graduating Senior and is primarily given to someone planning to attend a vocational school but is not limited to this. A recipient of this scholarship may use it for attendance at any higher institution of higher learning. Students must be active members of the church and have participated in high school and community activities. They must have led an exemplary Christian life.

THOMPSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

A graduating Senior may only apply for this scholarship if he/she is planning on attending a college in the University of Wisconsin four year degree granting campuses. To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must have been an active member of the Sun Prairie church for a minimum of one year. They must display an active participation in community and high school activities.

SUN PRAIRIE UNITED METHODIST MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

A recipient of this scholarship may use it for attendance at any institution of high learning, including vocational/technical schools, private or state colleges and universities, and not limited to Wisconsin institutions. Students who are active members of our church and are graduating Seniors may apply for this scholarship. This scholarship has been funded by local gifts and memorials.

ALDEN BRITTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship established by the Alden Britton Trust was instituted in 1998. Members of the United Methodist Church may apply for this scholarship. It may be used for attendance at any college or university for use in an undergraduate or graduate program. An applicant must show church and community activities that demonstrate strong Christian character. This scholarship may be granted to an individual only one time.

WAYMIRE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Waymire Scholarship established in 2000, is given to a member of our church to be used for attendance at any institution of higher learning. Recipients may re-apply for this scholarship to continue their undergraduate or technical degree for a total of four years. An applicant must demonstrate Christian activities in both the community and church.

THE FRANK N. BROWN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP

This Scholarship established in 2005 by Frank Brown has been established for use by a graduating high school Senior towards a career in education or related fields. Students must have been active members of our congregation for at least one year and may be used at any college or university for their freshman year.

DOROTHY M. CUMMINGS MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Gary V. Cummings family, in memory of his mother, Dorothy, who passed away in 2003, gives this scholarship. Dorothy Cummings was a career nurse and spent many years helping people both as patients and in the community. Students applying for this scholarship must have been active members of the Sun Prairie United Methodist church during their high school years and have participated in community and high school activities. This scholarship will be used to aid an individual in the furthering of higher education in the field of medicine or a related field. This scholarship is not limited to Seniors and may be used for both undergraduate and graduate programs but may only be granted to an individual one time.

All scholarship recipients will turn into the church office a receipt for expenditures once in the first semester and once in the second semester to receive their scholarship monies. At the end of the school year if the office has not received a receipt the remaining scholarship monies will be voided.
